Kylie Wilson is the Chief Operating Officer for the New Zealand School of Tourism Group (NZST), a private training provider in the vocational space that in the last 2 years has amalgamated the brands of Elite School of Beauty and Spa and Cut Above Academy into the business. NZST is New Zealand’s largest provider of tertiary training in the fields of travel, tourism and aviation and now adds the fields of makeup, beauty, hairdressing and special effects/prosthetics to the product mix. There are 13 campuses nationwide servicing approximately 2200 tertiary learners and 3 other strategic business units focussed on the delivery of resources to other markets. With 10 direct reports (the Senior Management team) and 170 staff overall, the focus of Kylie’s role is the sustainability of the organisation’s core business and the business transformation of the 2 new brands into the NZST culture and quality management processes. Her areas of responsibility include quality management, product development, leadership mentoring at senior level and general management of the 13 campuses, encompassing all operational needs.
Over the past 22 years, Kylie has gained extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of tourism, education and management through a variety of positions in these fields. She has led the organisation successfully through all areas of quality compliance with the regulatory authorities and to win a New Zealand Tourism Award in the category ‘Tourism Service Provider’ (2008). Her passion for learning, people and culture has seen her travelling to over 50 countries, including living and working in the United Kingdom.
